Absences & Make-Up Classes
When it is necessary to be absent from a class, we encourage the student take a “make-up” class. Please ask the instructor or the NewDance director to assist you in choosing the proper class to do your make-up in.

Levels (8-year-olds & up)
NewDance has developed a system of levels, based on age and ability, designed to better serve the individual needs of the dancer. Level (I) is the beginning level and level (VII) is the most advanced. The NewDance faculty may sometimes place a student in a class that is not his/her age group but, is a more appropriate level.

Pointe Class (11 years & up)
All students in any Pointe class must have the approval of the NewDance Ballet Director. First-year Pointe students will take class in specially designed "pre-pointe" shoes or ballet slippers.

To ensure the saftey of the student, all dancers who are attending Pointe class in pointe shoes must be attending two Ballet Technique classes per week. This helps ensure that the muscles are strong enough for the rigorous physical demands of point work.
